Regarding crime, we always come out low on the list of crime stats for uk cities, but you of course just have to use the same street smarts you would anywhere (watch your belongings, etc). You should be cautious when travelling to any city destination, but belfast is no cause for concern!

Either way really, belfast is safe.
Is belfast safe for english tourists. Although there are areas that should be avoided at night, especially around streets with pubs and bars, belfast is relatively safe when it comes to mugging or kidnapping, though precaution is still advised. Belfast, the capital of northern ireland, is actually one of the safest cities in the u.k. Belfast international is northern ireland's busiest airport and the second busiest airport on the island of ireland after dublin airport.
Only last night a man died after being stabbed in the head with a screwdriver. The only likely anti english areas, if there is such, would be hardened places of derry and odd places of south armagh like crossmaglen, even that would be a bit of stretch. Im well familar with belfast city centre , but know nothing about the university area.
When you say safe, i'm not sure whether you mean crime wise or troubles wise. In belfast tourists can take scheduled tours of the troubled spots of the past, they are very interesting for people who have an interest in northern ireland’s history. Belfast is safer than most cities.
Belfast is slowly becoming much more cosmopolitan and is well used to high levels of visitors from the south (republic of ireland) and england as well as from all over the world. Belfast has been deemed the least safe city in the uk, according to a survey. You should be cautious when travelling to any city destination, but belfast is no cause for concern!
A survey ranked belfast as the second safest city in the entire u.k. Btw there will be 62 cruise ships in belfast this summer , all safe and well and having met quite a few they all love here. Northern ireland is a popular tourist destination, but there are some dangers to be aware of before booking setting out to explore it.
20 years ago there would have been areas people from certain places would have. Me and my friend would love to go to belfast this new years eve as a last minute adventure but we're slightly worried about our safety. Belfast has lower crime rates than dublin.
Belfast is safer than most cities. Visit belfast welcome centre and visit belfast airport information points the visit belfast welcome centre and it’s airport information points will remain closed until restrictions are eased. While it may be quieter than some major cities in the uk, it’s generally a safe place to walk at night, even in small groups.
20 years ago there would have been areas people from certain places would have. 20 years ago there would have been areas people from certain places would have. Just my two cents, like i say i hold 100% of an english accent and lived here for 13 years with it.
I've lived in northern ireland for 25 years, luckily growing up mainly after the horror of the past. I live in northern ireland and have done so all my life. Belfast is generally a safe city but, like any other city, it does have things to be on guard about.
Dont be silly, its a great place to come visit and enjoy yourself especially belfast and a lot of tourists follow the game of thrones tours. Belfast is slowly becoming much more cosmopolitan and is well used to high levels of visitors from the south (republic of ireland) and england as well as from all over the world. Im holding an offer for qub for this sept.
Are we being overly cautious? Take the same normal precautions you would in any city. Belfast is safer than most cities.
I would say northern ireland is safer than many places. I was in belfast at the weekend and it is so great to hear so many accents and see so many nationalities in the city. We are still providing vital information services on our website, and visitors can email queries to info@visitbelfast.com or telephone 028 9024 6609.
There was some rioting in july (during the parade season, now at an end) in the ardoyne area of belfast which is an area tourists would not normally be in. Take the same normal precautions you would in any city. To live in, just behind birmingham.
Even at the height of the troubles, belfast wasn't a particularly dangerous city for tourists. Northern ireland is a ridiculously safe place for tourists. That makes belfast safer to visit than london, manchester, york, leeds, glasgow, edinburgh, and cardiff.
Correspondingly, is belfast safe for tourists? The six counties of antrim, armagh, derry, down, fermanagh, and tyrone (let alone the city of belfast) were represented as full of violence and dissent in the media and public perception outside ireland echoes this. No tourist would end up in the dangerous areas unless they knew it was dangerous.
Northern ireland warnings and dangers. Belfast is slowly becoming much more cosmopolitan and is well used to high levels of visitors from the south (republic of ireland) and england as well as from all over the world. However, since the late 1990s the reality of life in northern ireland has changed dramatically and the country is safe to visit.
I live in a town outside belfast. Also, it’s important to understand local politics so you don. Take the same normal precautions you would in any city.
Belfast is very safe as well, it has seen a little disturbance in recent weeks but overall is a beautiful victorian city and well worth a visit. Every irish person i've previously met have been lovely.
